“What makes a good referral?” Thursday 3rd July 3-4.30pm (TEAMS)

Safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s responsibility, and timely, accurate and well-constructed referrals helps agencies to work together effectively to keep children and young people safe. This FREE webinar supports practitioners to review and reflect on their practice.

Audience: Practitioners who make referrals into local authority children’s services.

 Developing an Understanding of Child Sexual Abuse

Course aim: This 2 day training, delivered by NSPCC accredited practitioners, provides those working with children and families a solid base level understanding of their roles and responsibilities in recognising and responding to Child Sexual Abuse. Our multi-agency training generates a shared understanding of CSA and need for a recovery service. Practitioners are supported to increase their knowledge and confidence in recognising abuse, responding, reporting and recording, whilst also looking at the impact of CSA on the young person, the family and wider community/ society.

Audience: This training is available to all frontline workers who wish to develop their awareness of child sexual abuse.

Course aim: This training course will support practitioners to develop their understanding of contextual safeguarding and its application in practice.

Audience: Frontline practitioners and managers working or volunteering with children and young people in Bedfordshire

 Safeguarding Children with Disabilities.pdf

Course aim: This one-day course is for practitioners looking to develop their knowledge and practice in safeguarding children with disabilities.

Audience: This workshop is available to all frontline workers.

Course aim: This half day course will give participants greater confidence and skills to effectively challenge professionals and practice within their agency and others, in order to safeguard children and young people.

Audience: Practitioners and managers in voluntary, independent and statutory agencies who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

 Working with Resistant Families.pdf

Course aim: This half day workshop will help practitioners from all agencies explore practical strategies for working with families who present particular challenges. You will explore the concept of ‘disguised compliance’ and consider your approach when working with uncertainty.

Audience: Experienced frontline practitioners and managers from all disciplines.
