Better Security, Better Care is a national and local support programme to help adult social care providers to store and share information safely. It covers paper and digital records and focuses on helping care providers to complete the Data Security and Protection Toolkit – the annual, online self-assessment.

The DSPT is officially recognised by the CQC and local authorities and is increasingly being used in their inspections. It is also a requirement if you have services funded by the NHS, for example under continuing healthcare. This user-friendly self-assessment tool that has been constructed with Adult Social Care Providers will help ensure your company’s personal and service user data is better protected.

The DSPT can also support you in accessing other opportunities e.g. NHSmail, Proxy Access and Digital Social Care Record (DSCR or also known as an electronic care planning system)
